Needs: We are currently looking for submissions in all forms, namely fiction, nonfiction, poetry, book reviews, drama, and visual art.

Genres: Our magazine doesn’t have themes, and we're not opposed to genre writing, but we prefer literary stories, or stories with literary-quality prose. Check out our first issue and The Chamber Four Fiction Anthology (free downloads) to get an idea of what we like.

Payment: None. Sorry.

Simultaneous submissions: Sure. But if your work is accepted somewhere else, let us know ASAP (and congratulations).

Publication: We’re publishing mag issues 1-2 times yearly. Occasionally we’ll be running some pieces on our blog too (they’ll be included in the issue as well).

Reading period: All the time. Our priority reading for our third issue (out in Fall 2012) will close at the end of June. But go ahead and submit after that date, we'll consider you for the next issue.

Response time: Definitely within two months. Probably within one.

For artwork: We'll publish your work on the dedicated lit mag site, as well as in the iPad-optimized edition of the magazine. Most ebook editions, since they are low-res and black-and-white, won't have an artwork component.

Where to submit: Here. You can also send submissions, or any questions you might have, to submissions@chamberfour.com.

Other stuff: Only previously unpublished work will be accepted.
